Coniwrap Fruit Tree

This small fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 56 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a sturdy, straight trunk covered in delicate, smooth, light brown bark, and inside, the hard wood is black with white speckles.

The branches are short stubs and are covered with small amounts of tiny, pleated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are gray with white tips.

In early spring, it produces a thick sheet of large, cyan blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like sugar.

In late autumn it produces , cuboid fruit. The crispy blue skin is tough and inedible, and the soft intense blue flesh is savoury and dry. The blood red seed is very large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with grassy ground between them.
