Coniavocado

This massive fruit tree grows up to 65 feet (19.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 21 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in hard, smooth, brown-green speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is light brown.

The tangled mess of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of giant, broad, flat leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are cream at the bottom and beige with olive lines at the top.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, dark brown blossoms with asymmetrical petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a faint scent that smells like wet dog.

In early winter it produces very large, perforated fruit. The fuzzy violet skin is thin and edible when boiled; it is sweet and spicy, and the very soft intense blue flesh is bitter and savoury and syrupy. The grey seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
