Conifruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its stem)

This average-sized fruit tree grows up to 18 feet (5.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 78 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a stocky, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, dark green bark, and inside, the soft wood is black.

The small bunches of branches are short stubs and are covered with copious amounts of giant, long, tapering leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are brown at the bottom and white with indigo lines at the top.

In early spring, it produces several medium-sized, vibrant blue blossoms with finger-like petals. They fall easily and have an intensely strong scent that smells like rich perfume.

In mid-autumn it produces , asymmetrical fruit. The hairy red skin is delicate and sweet and sour, and the very soft olive flesh is bitter and syrupy. The beige seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
It makes a distinctive sound when the wind blows through it.
