Succulent Silverbell

This small flower grows up to 5 inches (13 cm) tall. Its gray stem is very thick, and the huge, silver leaves are white on the underside and are broad, flat with irregular edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves grow in pairs along the length of the stem.

Each stem splits 1 to 4 times; a single medium-sized flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide, with petals that are azure on the edges and copper at the center. The flower head is largely flat with several raised narrow petals. They fall easily.

It has the faintest scent that smells like soap, and it has lots of pollen; it does not cause any allergic reactions. It is a self-pollinator, but is also particularly attractive to insects.
