This moss green moss is commonly found growing in small clumps In rainforests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is overwhelmingly rigid; it dislikes being stepped on.
When mature, emerald flame-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores.

It spreads easily and often blanket large areas.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
