Azure Spined Succulent

This short caudiciform grows up to 9 feet (2.7 meters) tall. The narrow stem is azure, and is covered in many flexible aquamarine spines. The round, muted yellow trunk can grow to as much as 9 feet (2.7 meters) in diameter. Its gray branches trail down to the ground.

The wavy-edged, slender, pointed leaves are either intense red, or pink with amber edges. They are durable, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 5 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are generally gentle yellow; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour grow at the top, reappearing once every 3 years. The flower head is shaped like a cube made up of many widely spaced, round-tipped petals. It has an intensely strong scent that smells like faeces.

The caudiciform's skin is tough, the sky blue flesh is slimy, and the yellow sap is thin.
