Emerald Crescent Moss

This lime green moss is commonly found growing in medium-sized clumps On trees, and On rotten logs.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly strong; it can easily endure flooding and draughts.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
