Clinging Emerald

This big flower grows up to 2.2 feet (66 cm) tall. Its emerald stem is very thin and straight with a curved tip, and the tiny, brown leaves are light green on the underside and are long, tapering with smooth edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and more leaves alternate on the stem from about halfway up, up to the flower head.

Dozens of large flowers grow in drooping bunches like grapes. The flowers are 6 cm (2.4 inches) wide, with petals that are generally brilliant green; each flower tends to be a variation of this colour. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 23 petals. They are very delicate.

It has a soft scent that smells like musk, and it has very little pollen; it can cause allergic reactions. It is pollinated by the wind, but is also visited by a small species of bird.
