Ember Moss

This orange moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas On rotten logs, In bogs, and In damp forests.
It is average-sized, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps, and is overwhelmingly resilient.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late autumn to release millions of spores.
