Copperleaf

Shrub type: Deciduous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 59 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has numerous knobbly, straight stems covered in waxy, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of huge, asymmetrical, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either cyan or violet, with blood red lines, flimsy and covered in fine hairs.

In late summer it produces thousands of medium-sized, olive flowers with long, narrow petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a strong scent that smells like misty mornings.


It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
It coexists peacefully with other plants.
