Crimson Willow

Shrub type: Deciduous (Stores water in its stem)

This short shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 92 years. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has many stocky, straight stems covered in cracked, black with white speckled bark, and the wood inside is gray.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with small bunches of small, slender, pointed, leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are crimson and lime, strong and covered in fine hairs.

It produces copious amounts of giant, red flowers with circular petals with a tube-like floral cup. They are sturdy and have an intensely strong scent that smells like sugar. In early summer it forms largeblack, tough-shelled seeds.


Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
The bark, wood and leaves are edible.
