Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 10 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 29 years old. It is very resistant to destructive insect infestation but susceptible to disease.

It has a thick, straight trunk covered in rough, light brown bark, and inside, the soft wood is pale brown.

The numerous branches are short stubs and are covered with sparse amounts of miniature, spiral leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either dark grey, or peach with silver edges.

In early spring, it produces several tiny, drab yellow blossoms with circular shaped petals. They detach easily and have a mildly strong scent that smells like rotten meat.

In mid-autumn it produces , long, straight fruit. The hairy hazel skin is tough and edible when roasted; it is sweet, and the slightly crunchy peach flesh is savoury and oily. The florescent red seed is large and sits at the top of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
