Coniapple Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows upwards by winding itself around other objects and plants.)

This large fruit tree grows up to 41 feet (12.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 20 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in wrinkled, dark gray bark, and inside, the very light wood is silver.

The small handful of branches are long and thick and are covered with large amounts of giant, perforated leaves with serrated edges. The leaves themselves are generally blood red.

In early spring, it produces lots of large, indigo blossoms with wide petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like varnish.

In mid-autumn it produces very large, pleated fruit. The fuzzy turquoise skin is delicate and inedible, and the soft subtle green flesh is very spicy and syrupy. The yellow seed is very large and is in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
Their seeds have hallucinogenic properties.
