Crimson Spiral Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In marshes, In damp forests, and In rainy mountain ranges.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in thin clumps, and is very delicate; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release dozens of spores.
