Spineleaf Sapphirus
Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)This short leaf succulent grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The narrow stem is lime green, and is covered in thousands of rigid black spines. The ripped-edged, 2 pointed leaves are yellow and sky blue. Small bunches of them grow from the base in random directions. The leaves are flimsy, but easily come away when pulled.
It is steady-growing, taking 2 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are aquamarine in the center, deep purple in the middle and aquamarine at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing after 3 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 13 raised, narrow petals. It has a weak scent that smells like sweat.
The leaf succulent's skin is thick, the aquamarine flesh is smooth, and the white sap is thin.
It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It has impressive regenerative properties.
