Caramel Spine Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This big leaf succulent grows up to 93 feet (28.3 meters) tall. The thin stem is caramel or white, and is dotted with small red spines. The pebble-like leaves are solid caramel with cream splotches. Large amounts of them grow on very thick, gray-green branches that trail down across the ground. The leaves are rigid, and easily come away when pulled.

It is quick growing, taking 3 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, several flowers with petals that are either washed-out green or magenta, with a yellow center grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 12 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like sweat.

The leaf succulent's skin is very thick, the red flesh is waxy, and the magenta sap is thin.

It is suitable for making paper
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
