Copper Spine Succulent

This modest-sized leaf succulent grows up to 14 feet (4.3 meters) tall. The needle-like stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in handfuls of flexible copper spines. The smooth-edged, thick leaves are solid bright red or gold, with green lines. Handfuls of them grow from the base like a cabbage. The leaves are resilient, and detach easily.

It is quick growing, taking 10 months to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with green petals and a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of dozens of petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight star. It has an overpowering scent that smells like chocolate.

The leaf succulent's skin is extremely thick, the violet flesh is rough, and the dark grey sap is thin.
