Pinefruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Grows along the ground or other low surfaces.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 61 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, curved trunk covered in knobbly, pine-coloured bark, and inside, the dense wood is silver.

The abundance of branches are long and slender and are covered with small bunches of huge, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are found in hazel and dull yellow varieties.

In early spring, it produces balls of medium-sized, cream blossoms with 4 circular shaped petals. They are very delicate and have a powerful scent that smells like citrus.

In late autumn it produces small, fan-like fruit. The clammy azure skin is stretchy and inedible, and the crunchy lilac flesh is sour and dry. The bronze seeds are tiny and are dotted around on the skin of the fruit.

The roots spread far and go deep underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with grassy ground between them.

It is suitable for creating flexible, durable textiles
The leaves are bitter, but very healthy.
