Sickleleaf Tree
Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)This average-sized tree grows up to 29 meters (95.1 feet) tall and lives for centuries, with the oldest known specimen being around 219 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.
It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, waxy, brown-green bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is silver.
The sparse amount of branches are long, thin and wispy and are covered with large amounts of sticky, giant, sickle shaped leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid cream or crimson, with lilac edges.
In early spring, it produces large amounts of tiny, purple blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like burning wood.
In late summer it forms medium-sized, deep green, tough-shelled seeds.
The roots form a tightly packed ball, and overall the tree is sturdy, flexible, and difficult to uproot or break.
Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between filled with undergrowth.
It is extremely resistant to fire damage.
It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
