Crimson Tear Moss

This pink-red moss is commonly found growing in large clumps In bogs, and In rainforests.
It is large, growing up to 10 inches (25 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they are slow to spread and grow, and is slightly rigid; it burns easily in strong sunlight.
When mature, emerald teardrop-shaped capsules grow at the end of long, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release hundred of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
