Clinging Peachvine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This huge fruit tree grows up to 57 feet (17.4 meters) tall and lives for up to 15 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 27 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a narrow, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, ridged, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the light wood is pine-coloured.

The small bunches of branches are short, rigid and upright and are covered with very large amounts of tiny, very narrow and elongated leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid peach with slate patches.

In early spring, it produces dozens of small, azure blossoms with perforated petals. They are hardy and have a faint scent that smells like sugar.

In early autumn it produces tiny, asymmetrical fruit. The fuzzy bronze skin is thick and inedible, and the very soft subtle yellow flesh is sour and very juicy. The light grey seed is small and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and grow straight down, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
