Aquafruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This large fruit tree grows up to 38 feet (11.6 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 51 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, curved trunk covered in very thick, cracked, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the light wood is light brown.

The branches are long and thin and are covered with large amounts of huge, slender, pointed leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in light brown, hazel and beige varieties.

In early spring, it produces bunches of large, aquamarine blossoms with stiff, pointed petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have the faintest scent that smells like pot-purri.

In mid-autumn it produces , spherical fruit. The rough brown skin is thick and edible when roasted; it is sweet and spicy, and the soft olive flesh is sweet and very dry. The crimson seed is large and sits at the end of the fruit.

The roots are long and grow straight down, and overall the tree is rigid and brittle.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with the space between filled with undergrowth.

It is almost impossible to grow indoors.
