Brown Heath Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In heathlands.
It is enormous, growing up to 1.2 feet (36 cm) tall. It forms in extensive patches and they spread and grow quickly, and is slightly strong; it can easily endure being trodden on.
When mature, emerald kidney-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early winter to release hundred of spores; it can cause allergic reactions.
