Goldpetal

Flower type: Biennial (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short flower grows up to 6 inches (15 cm) tall. Its gold stem is very thin and splits into several branching stems halfway up, and the miniature, green leaves are light green on the underside and are long, tapering with ripped edges. Many leaves grow at the base of the stem, and a pair of leaves grow at the base of the flower head.

3 to 5 giant flowers grow on alternate sides up the length of the stem. The flowers are 5 cm (2.0 inches) wide, with petals that are red in the center, black in the middle and aquamarine at the edges. The flower head is made up of 7 petals in raised layers. They are hardy.

It has a powerful scent that smells like leather, and it has very little pollen. It is pollinated by a small species of bird, but is also visited by a small species of bird.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
It is suitable for making baskets and the like
Several parts of the flower have medicinal properties.
