Burgundy Moss

This burgundy moss is commonly found blanketing large areas In moorlands, and On rotten logs.
It is small, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in small clumps are slow to spread and grow, and is overwhelmingly frail.
When mature, emerald spiral capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release thousands of spores.
