Brown Rope Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing medium-sized areas In rainy mountain ranges, On rotten logs, and In damp forests.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is extremely resistant.
When mature, emerald oblong capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
