Aqua Goldfruit

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 30 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 57 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a flexible, curved trunk covered in thick, knobbly, light brown bark, and inside, the very dense wood is gray.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with large amounts of huge, asymmetrical leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are solid aquamarine or gold, with violet dots.

In early spring, it produces large amounts of giant, gold blossoms with broad, flat petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have no scent.

In early winter it produces small, donut-shaped fruit. The crispy pastel yellow skin is thin and sweet and bitter, and the slightly crunchy magenta flesh is salty and juicy. The silver seeds are large and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is rigid and weak, and breaks apart easily.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together, with the space between them filled with thick undergrowth.
