Copperleaf

This small shrub grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall and lives for around 40 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several narrow, straight stems covered in fine, silky, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is copper-coloured.

The branches trail down towards the ground with thousands of twigs that and are covered with handfuls of small, stiff, pointed, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are generally blood red, resistant and waxy.

In early spring it produces several medium-sized, orange flowers with sickle shaped petals. They are hardy and have a mildly strong scent that smells like vomit.
