Spikelet Grass

This small, orange-yellow grass grows up to 1 foot (30.5 cm) tall. The long, tapering stalks grow in thin clumps that are sturdy and flexible and they overwhelm an area rapidly.

When mature, the end of the stem eventually transforms into a large, caramel spikelet.

During the mid-summer, it produces very little pollen, and after flowering, it is left with a handful of medium-sized grains.
