Azure Blade Succulent

Succulent type: Leaf succulent (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized leaf succulent grows up to 63 feet (19.2 meters) tall. The tapering stem is light brown or aquamarine, and is covered in dozens of rigid gentle green spines. The tattered-edged, pleated leaves are either azure, or grey with intense blue edges. Handfuls of them grow from the base like blades of grass. The leaves are delicate, and take some effort to detach.

It is very slow growing, taking 19 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with petals that are lilac at the sides and pink at the center grows at the top, reappearing once every 5 years. The flower head is shaped like a cube with 23 raised, round-tipped petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like rotting meat.

The leaf succulent's skin is nearly impenetrable, the turquoise flesh is rough, and the cyan sap is thin and causes vomiting if consumed.

It is suitable for making strong rope
