Brown Crescent Moss

This brown moss is commonly found blanketing tiny areas In rainy mountain ranges, In marshes, and On rotten logs.
It is short, growing up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is slightly flimsy; it takes a lot of damage when trodden on.
When mature, emerald crescent-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it does not cause many allergic reactions.
