Copperfruit Tree

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Stores water in its leaves)

This modest-sized fruit tree grows up to 16 feet (4.9 meters) tall and lives for up to 20 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 26 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a very thick, straight trunk covered in thin, cracked, copper-coloured bark, and inside, the very hard wood is dark brown.

The excessive amount of branches are very long and thick and are covered with small amounts of huge, long, narrow leaves with rounded edges. The leaves themselves are copper on the sides and lilac at the center.

In early spring, it produces many medium-sized, yellow blossoms with broad, flat petals. They fall easily and have a strong scent that smells like citrus.

In late summer it produces , fan-like fruit. The waxy cyan skin is thin and inedible, and the slightly crunchy copper flesh is spicy and sour and sticky. The pastel green seeds are small and are located in the centre of the fruit.

The roots are fine and grow in a large web, and overall the tree is sturdy and rigid.

Forests of this species feature the trees packed together densely, with clear space between them.

It only grows on the most fertile lands.
