Caramel

This small caudiciform grows up to 8 feet (2.4 meters) tall. The slender, pointed stem is washed-out yellow, and is covered in many rigid blood red spines. The very thick, red trunk can grow to as much as 8 feet (2.4 meters) in diameter. Its pink-red branches are very long and thin.

The ripped-edged, stiff, pointed leaves are either amber, or caramel with lilac lines. They are frail, but detach easily.

It is steady-growing, taking 3 years to reach maturity. Once mature, a single flower with pale red petals and a yellow center grows at the top, reappearing once every 9 years. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 35 curved petals. It has no scent.

The caudiciform's skin is extremely thick, the olive flesh is soft, and the purple sap is thin.
