Aquamarine

Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This short fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 40 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 55 years old. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has a thick, angular trunk covered in paper-thin, knobbly, white with black speckled bark, and inside, the hard wood is light brown.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright and are covered with sparse amounts of giant, spear shaped leaves with irregular edges. The leaves themselves are bold green and bronze.

In early spring, it produces a handful of small, bold green blossoms with teardrop-shaped shaped petals. They detach easily and have an overpowering scent that smells like blood.

In early winter it produces small, pleated fruit. The fuzzy aquamarine skin is peel-able and inedible, and the very soft caramel flesh is bitter and syrupy. The grey seeds are small and are scattered throughout the fruit.

The roots are thick and spread across the surface, as well as underground, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature trees spaced far apart, with clear space between them.

The entire flower is edible and slightly bitter.
It is suitable for use as a construction material
