Bluebell Bush

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 176 years old. It is susceptible to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of knobbly, wonky stems covered in very thick, cracked, light gray bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are tall, rigid and upright with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with large amounts of tiny, perforated, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in aquamarine, indigo and sky blue varieties, robust and covered in fine hairs.

It produces handfuls of giant, blue flowers with V-shaped shaped petals. They are hardy and have a fairly strong scent that smells like fish. In late winter it forms smallbeige, spiky-shelled seeds.
