Azure Glow

Succulent type: Caudiciform (Stores water in the thickened base of its stem)

This short caudiciform grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall. The wide stem is yellow-green, and is covered in thousands of fine, caramel, hair-like spines. The straight, yellow trunk can grow to as much as 2 feet (61.0 cm) in diameter at the bottom. Its azure or violet branches are very long and thick and start growing three quarters of the way up the stem.

The small bunches of rounded-edged, pleated leaves are blue on the edges and peach at the center. They are sturdy, but easily come away when pulled.

It is very slow growing, taking 6 years to reach maturity. Once mature, several flowers with petals that are grey on the underside and gold on the top grow at the top, reappearing every year. The flower head is made up of several petals; the lower layer of petals are flat, while the upper layers form a tight cube. It has a soft scent that smells like lavender.

The caudiciform's skin is thin, the dark brown flesh is leathery, and the bright red sap is thin.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
The sap causes severe rashes
