Clinging Violet

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 139 years old. It is very susceptible to disease and insect infestation.

It has several sturdy, wonky stems covered in hard, rough, brown and grey bark, and the wood inside is burgundy-brown.

The branches are short, thin and wispy that and are covered with very large amounts of small, broad, flat, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are violet and white, light and smooth.

It produces copious amounts of medium-sized, copper flowers with wide petals. They are hardy and have an overpowering scent that smells like new books. In late spring it forms medium-sizeddark brown, shelled seeds.
