Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found growing in tiny clumps In heathlands, and In moorlands.
It is short, growing up to 2 inches (5 cm) tall. It forms in thick clumps and they spread and grow quickly, and is very flimsy.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of elongated, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the early summer to release millions of spores.
