Crimson Moss

This red moss is commonly found blanketing small areas In marshes.
It is modest-sized, growing up to 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It forms in sparse patches, and is very light.
When mature, emerald heart-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the mid-autumn to release millions of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.
