Copper

Succulent type: Stem succulent (Stores water in its stem)

This short cactus grows up to 6 feet (1.8 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 2 very thin stems. Each stem is copper, and is covered in hundreds of fine, cream, hair-like spines. The tear-shaped body is gray-green, and is covered in brittle green spines.

It is very fast growing, taking 9 months to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are cyan on the underside and purple on the top, grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of up to 60 petals. It has a mildly strong scent that smells like cherry.

The cactus's skin is nearly impenetrable, the cream flesh is waxy, and the aquamarine sap is thin and causes diarrhea if consumed.

It is suitable for creating fine, soft textiles
The colour changes depends on whether the soil is acidic or alkaline.
