Yellowwood

This modest-sized shrub grows up to 2 feet (61.0 cm) tall and lives for around 87 years. It is somewhat resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of very thick, curved stems covered in hard, waxy, yellow-brown bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are short, rigid and upright with thousands of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of tiny, long, narrow, leaves with ripped edges. The leaves themselves are washed-out green on the sides and beige at the center, robust and crispy.

It produces many bunches of large, blue flowers with many layers of petals with a trumpet-shaped floral cup. They are sturdy and have a soft scent that smells like old shoes. In early winter it forms largeblue aril (seeds with fleshy covers).
