Brown Glowfern

This average-sized shrub grows up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 110 years old. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has several thick, straight stems covered in smooth, light brown bark, and the wood inside is pale yellow.

The branches are short stubs with thousands of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of large, very thin, leaves with tattered edges. The leaves themselves are a shade of brown that gradient shifts to red at the top, sturdy and sticky.

It produces balls of tiny, cyan flowers with pleated petals with a bell-shaped floral cup. They detach easily and have a delicate scent that smells like apple. In late summer it forms smallbrown, shelled seeds.
