Caramel

This average-sized cactus grows up to 23 feet (7.0 meters) tall. It splits randomly along the body to form 5 very thin stems. Each stem is yellow-green, and is covered in handfuls of rigid caramel spines.

It is very slow growing, taking 33 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are purple in the center, brown in the middle and purple at the edges, grow at the top, reappearing after 6 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is largely flat with 48 widely spaced round-tipped petals. It has a scent whose strength depends on external factors, such as soil quality and rain frequency that smells like ashes.

The cactus's skin is thin, the hazel flesh is sticky, and the hazel sap is thin.
