Azure Petal
Flower type: Perennial (Stores water in its stem)This big flower grows up to 5.7 feet (1.7 meters) tall. Its green stem is very thin, and the tiny, gray leaves are slender, pointed with toothed edges. A pair of leaves grow at the base of the stem.
Each stem splits 5 to 11 times; a single small flower grows at the end of each split. The flowers are 20 cm (7.9 inches) wide, with petals that are yellow on the edges and azure at the center. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 34 curved petals. They detach easily.
It has a powerful scent that smells like rich perfume, and it has a fair amount of pollen; it does not cause many allergic reactions. It is pollinated by insects , but is also visited by a small species of bird.
