Amberfern

Shrub type: Coniferous (Stores water in its leaves)

This average-sized shrub grows up to 3 feet (91.4 cm) tall and lives for around 95 years. It is not very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has many wide, straight stems covered in thin, cracked, brown-green bark, and the wood inside is dark brown.

The branches are very short, thin and wispy with dozens of twigs that and are covered with small amounts of miniature, thick, leaves with smooth edges. The leaves themselves are either orange, or yellow with light brown dots, resilient and waxy.

It produces thousands of large, dark green flowers with long, tapering petals. They fall easily and have a soft scent that smells like perfume. In late spring it forms medium-sizedslate, winged seeds that float and land far away.


It absorbs an exceptionally large amount of water each day.
The leaves have medicinal properties.
It aggressively steals nutrients from other large plants (but not each other).
It is suitable for creating strong, durable textiles
