Copperbrush

This big shrub grows up to 7 feet (2.1 meters) tall and lives for decades, with the oldest known specimen being around 182 years old. It is very resistant to disease and destructive insect infestation.

It has dozens of stocky, curved stems covered in silky, copper-coloured bark, and the wood inside is pale brown-grey.

The branches are short stubs with hundreds of twigs that and are covered with copious amounts of large, thin, leaves with wavy edges. The leaves themselves are found in purple, amber and ashy yellow varieties, frail and rough.

It produces several giant, dark brown flowers with crescent-shaped shaped petals. They fall easily and have an intense scent that smells like fruity. In early summer it forms medium-sizedlime, spiky-shelled seeds.
