Crimson vine

Climbing plant type: Vine (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This average-sized vine is a steady-growing plant, with the largest known specimen reaching a length of 38 feet (11.6 meters) and growing as high as 629 feet (191.7 meters).

It takes 4 years for the gray-green stems to mature, by which point they each have a diameter of 2 inches (5 cm) and are flat and wavy.

The very thick, rough leaves reach up to 11 inches (28 cm) in length. They are solid crimson or cream, with turquoise edges, and have jagged edges.

During late spring, the vine produces many balls of colossal pink flowers.


It is excellent at collecting and storing carbon dioxide
It is suitable for use as a construction material
Several parts of the leaf succulent have medicinal properties.
