Bluebell

This short leaf succulent grows up to 11 feet (3.4 meters) tall. The stiff, pointed stem is orange-yellow, and is covered in handfuls of rigid hazel spines. The toothed-edged, thick leaves are yellow with sky blue tips. Copious amounts of them grow from the base in a loosely patterned way. The leaves are hardy, but easily come away when pulled.

It is steady-growing, taking 4 years to reach maturity. Once mature, and only under the right conditions, a handful of flowers, with petals that are crimson at the sides and magenta at the center, grow at the top, reappearing after 2 years, but only when the conditions are right again. The flower head is an uncoordinated mess of 35 curved petals. It has an overpowering scent that smells like cotton.

The leaf succulent's skin is tough, the washed-out blue flesh is smooth, and the green sap is thin.
