Fruit Tree type: Deciduous (Grows upwards by clinging to almost any surface.)

This small fruit tree grows up to 5 feet (1.5 meters) tall and lives for up to 35 years, with the oldest known specimen being around 57 years old. It is very resistant to disease but is susceptible to destructive insect infestation.

It has a branched, straight trunk covered in paper-thin, wrinkled, silver bark, and inside, the medium-dense wood is mahogany-coloured.

The abundance of branches are short and thin and are covered with handfuls of tiny, needle-like leaves with toothed edges. The leaves themselves are bronze and lime.

In early spring, it produces several small, light grey blossoms with heart-shaped shaped petals. They are sturdy and have a weak scent that smells like glue.

In late summer it produces tiny, asymmetrical fruit. The fuzzy pink skin is tough and edible when roasted; it is sweet and sour, and the slightly crunchy copper flesh is bitter and sour and syrupy. The grey seeds are tiny and are bunched at the top of the fruit.

The roots are shallow and widely spread, and overall the tree is sturdy and difficult to uproot.

Forests of this species feature well-spaced trees, with patches of undergrowth between them.

The entire plant is edible and the grains areextremely salty.
