This moss green moss is commonly found growing in giant clumps On rotten logs, and In bogs.
It is short, growing up to 1 inch (3 cm) tall. It forms in large clumps, and is very frail.
When mature, emerald V-shaped capsules grow at the end of short, lime green sporophytes, eventually opening up during the late summer to release dozens of spores; it can cause severe allergic reactions.

It is suitable for creating tough, hard-wearing textiles
It out-competes most other plants for nutrients and light.
It grows well in the sun and full shade.
